Bunge reported higher third-quarter earnings, with growth in both reported and adjusted diluted earnings per share. The agribusiness company said soybean and softseed processing and refining remained strong, and it kept its full-year adjusted earnings outlook unchanged.
It also said it continued work on value-creation priorities, including synergies tied to Viterra. After the quarter ended, a new oilseed processing line at its Bunge Chevron Ag Renewables facility in Destrehan, Louisiana, began production.
Key details
- Third-quarter earnings rose: Net income attributable to Bunge was $318 million, compared with $166 million a year earlier. Diluted earnings per share from continuing operations increased to $1.64 from $0.86.
- Adjusted earnings also grew, but less sharply: Adjusted diluted EPS was $2.56, up from $2.27. The adjusted measure excludes mark-to-market timing differences and certain gains and charges.
- Nine-month results were higher: For the first nine months of 2026, net income attributable to Bunge was $1.064 billion, versus $721 million in the same period last year. Diluted EPS from continuing operations was $5.45, compared with $4.62; adjusted diluted EPS was $6.38, up from $5.56.
- Processing and refining were key areas of strength: Bunge attributed continued strong performance in soybean and softseed processing and refining to execution and the capabilities of its expanded, more connected global network.
- Full-year outlook is unchanged: Bunge continues to expect adjusted EPS of $9.25 to $9.75 for 2026.
- Growth projects and integration work are advancing: The company cited progress on Viterra-related synergies. After quarter-end, its Destrehan facility began production on a new oilseed processing line.
What the results show: Both reported and adjusted EPS increased year over year, though the gap between their growth rates reflects the effect of items excluded from the adjusted measure. Bunge’s full-year adjusted EPS range is unchanged.
