Mount Logan Capital reported third-quarter 2026 results, highlighting higher year-to-date segment income and several transactions it expects to expand recurring earnings. It also said its insurance subsidiary has begun selling multi-year guaranteed annuities and announced a post-quarter agreement to take over management of an asset-based lending fund.
- Year-to-date earnings: Through September 30, fee-related earnings (FRE) were $3.3 million and spread-related earnings (SRE) were $8.2 million, for combined segment income of $11.5 million. That was up 21%, or $2.0 million, from the same period last year.
- Insurance Solutions: SRE was $2.7 million, up $1.2 million year over year but down $0.3 million from the previous quarter.
- Asset Management: FRE was $0.5 million, down $2.2 million year over year and $0.9 million from the previous quarter.
- Two transactions completed during the quarter: SOFIX acquired assets from the Yieldstreet Alternative Income Fund, and the Alternative Credit Income Fund merged with BC Partners Lending Corporation. Mount Logan expects the transactions to add $6.5 million in annualized FRE on a run-rate basis.
- Insurance expansion: Ability Insurance Company received a B+ Financial Strength Rating from AM Best and launched its first suite of multi-year guaranteed annuity products under the ReliAbility brand.
- Fund-management agreement after quarter-end: Mount Logan signed a definitive agreement to become investment adviser to the AFA Asset Based Lending Fund, succeeding Alternative Fund Advisors. The company expects the mandate to bring its interval-fund assets under management to about $460 million.
- Investor call: Mount Logan scheduled a results call and webcast for November 6, 2026, at noon Eastern time.
The reported year-to-date segment income increase came alongside mixed performance in the two businesses highlighted: Insurance Solutions’ SRE improved from a year earlier, while Asset Management’s FRE declined. The completed transactions and proposed advisory mandate are expected to add to Mount Logan’s recurring earnings base.
