BGC Group plans to move JP Aubin out of its senior operating roles and into the position of vice chairman, effective at the close of business on December 31, 2026. Aubin is currently a co-chief executive, CEO of EMEA and co-global head of financial services brokerage.
John J. Abularrage and Sean A. Windeatt will remain co-CEOs, with responsibility for all of BGC’s regions and businesses. Aubin will report to them and continue to support the company’s growth and innovation.
Key details
- Aubin’s vice-chairman appointment takes effect December 31. At that time, he is expected to leave his current roles at BGC and its subsidiaries, including his positions as co-CEO, EMEA CEO and co-global head of financial services brokerage, as well as his role as a BGC executive officer.
- The co-CEOs may designate Aubin to retain or take on other roles. As vice chairman, his duties will be determined by the co-CEOs.
- BGC amended Aubin’s employment agreement to reflect the transition. The amendment was approved by the company’s board and compensation committee.
- BGC announced the appointment on November 3. The employment-agreement amendment was made on October 28.
Implications
The change shifts Aubin from day-to-day executive leadership into a vice-chairman role reporting to the co-CEOs. BGC’s announcement leaves the company’s top leadership structure in place: Abularrage and Windeatt will continue to lead the business as co-CEOs.
