Sidus Space has added Hassan R. Baqar to its board, effective Oct. 28, and appointed him to the board’s Audit Committee. The move adds a director with extensive finance, public-company reporting and transaction experience to the committee overseeing the company’s financial reporting and internal controls.
- Baqar will serve through Sidus Space’s 2027 annual meeting, unless he leaves the board earlier or a successor is appointed.
- He has more than 25 years of experience in financial services, capital markets, corporate development and mergers and acquisitions. His background includes serving as a CFO, officer or director at public and private companies in the United States, Canada and the Cayman Islands.
- Baqar has been CFO or a director at nine special-purpose acquisition companies. He has been involved in business combinations involving OppFi, Hagerty, Limbach Holdings, Saltire Capital, Boxabl and Greenland Energy.
- His previous CFO roles include Saltire Capital, FG Financial Group and United Insurance Holdings. He is currently founder and managing member of Sequoia Financial, CEO of B-SCADA, CFO of FG Imperii Acquisition Corp. and a director of Greenland Energy, among other roles.
- Sidus CEO and board chair Carol Craig said Baqar’s experience, alongside Audit Committee Chair Larry Swets, would support the board’s financial oversight as the company grows. Baqar is a certified public accountant and holds an MBA and an accounting and business administration degree.
The appointment changes the composition of Sidus Space’s board and Audit Committee, adding experience in financial reporting, capital raising and corporate transactions. No changes to the company’s capital structure or executive leadership were announced.
