Immuneering said patients in its Phase 2 pancreatic cancer study are living longer than expected, prompting the company to extend follow-up before releasing more data. It also reported that enrollment in its pivotal Phase 3 study is ahead of schedule, and raised that trial’s enrollment target—changes that may allow the company to report results earlier than its current mid-2028 estimate.
The updates accompany Immuneering’s third-quarter results announcement. The material available here does not include quarterly revenue, net loss, earnings per share or cash-balance figures.
Key details
-
More follow-up in the Phase 2 pancreatic cancer trial: Immuneering plans to provide updated results in the first half of 2027 from the trial’s atebimetinib-plus-mGnP treatment arm, which includes 55 patients. Follow-up is being extended because patients are living longer than projected, the company said.
-
Phase 3 trial enrollment target increased: Enrollment in MAPKeeper 301, the company’s pivotal Phase 3 study, is ahead of schedule. Immuneering is increasing its target from 510 to 570 patients.
-
Potentially earlier Phase 3 results: The company currently expects topline data around mid-2028, but said the faster enrollment and higher target may allow it to accelerate that timing. An earlier readout is a possibility, not a revised firm date.
-
Cash runway guidance: Immuneering now expects its cash to fund operations through the fourth quarter of 2028. The company linked that outlook to the extended Phase 2 follow-up, expanded and faster Phase 3 enrollment, and commercial-readiness work. No cash balance or spending figures were included in the material available here.
-
Prior clinical data cited by the company: Immuneering pointed to median overall survival of 17.3 months in data it previously reported at ASCO, along with what it described as excellent tolerability. Those figures are not the new Phase 2 update; the next update is expected in the first half of 2027.
What changes
The clearest operational change is the larger MAPKeeper 301 enrollment target, which adds 60 patients to the plan. The extended Phase 2 follow-up delays the next update until the first half of 2027, while faster Phase 3 enrollment could bring the anticipated mid-2028 results forward. Immuneering’s stated cash-runway horizon is through the end of 2028, including the costs of these trial plans and commercial-readiness activities.
