Tronox has appointed Yasser Al-Daajani to its board, adding an executive with more than 25 years of experience in the petrochemicals industry. His appointment took effect Oct. 27 and followed a nomination by Cristal International Holdings under a 2019 shareholder agreement.
- Board role: Al-Daajani is executive vice president of petrochemicals at Saudi industrial company Tasnee, where he has served since June 2025. He oversees its petrochemicals business, including manufacturing, sales, marketing and supply-chain operations.
- Industry experience: He has held several leadership roles at Tasnee and serves on the boards of petrochemical joint ventures affiliated with the company, including Saudi Polyolefins Company, Saudi Ethylene and Polyethylene Company, and Saudi Acrylic Acid Company.
- Director compensation: He will receive the same compensation as Tronox’s other non-employee directors: a $100,000 annual cash retainer, paid quarterly, and an annual grant of time-based restricted share units with a fair market value of $150,000.
- Other disclosures: Tronox said there are no arrangements with other people connected to his selection and no reportable related-party transactions between the company and Al-Daajani.
The appointment gives Cristal a board nominee under the existing shareholder agreement. The announcement does not describe a change in Tronox’s control or strategy.
