Genasys has repaid its unsecured term loan from Maran Partners Fund in full, removing that borrowing from its obligations. The company made the final payment of principal and accrued interest on October 23 and announced the repayment on October 28.
The move clears the Maran loan but does not eliminate Genasys’ debt: the company still has a secured term loan, which it says it has begun amortizing monthly.
- Loan repaid: Genasys borrowed $4.3 million from Maran on June 9, 2026. It made a partial repayment when the loan was amended on September 14, then paid the remaining principal and accrued interest on October 23.
- No remaining Maran obligations: Genasys says it has no obligations left under the unsecured loan.
- Secured loan remains outstanding: The company made its first monthly amortization payment on that loan on October 1. CFO Cassandra Monteon said Genasys expects to make payments on schedule.
- Management’s stated rationale: Monteon said repaying the unsecured loan strengthens the balance sheet and allows the company to focus its loan-servicing efforts on the secured borrowing.
The repayment removes one loan from Genasys’ debt obligations, while scheduled payments on the secured term loan remain part of its financing commitments. The company did not provide the secured loan’s balance or the amount of the final Maran payment.
